Planning permission granted for Miele 'Experience Centre'

6 May 2009  -  Muse Developments and Miele – the renowned German manufacturer of high quality domestic appliances – have been granted planning permission for a new commercial development at Cheadle Royal Business Park in Stockport.

The 20,000 sq ft building will create approximately 40 new jobs at the North West’s premier business park and generate significant inward investment.

The Miele Experience Centre will offer a state-of-the-art, contemporary office in addition to a training and demonstration facility for Miele staff, engineers, authorised dealers and end users.  The facility will be only the second of its kind in the UK.

The development is part of ambitious plans by Miele to extend its presence in the North of England.  It also marks the continued growth and development of Cheadle Royal, which is already home to international brands such as Nike, Capita and DeVere.

Tony Stephens, director of facilities at Miele, commented: “Our first experience centre, launched at Miele’s UK headquarters in Abingdon, has proved to be extremely successful.  We’re now looking to build on that success and extend our leading edge dealer training facilities throughout the rest of the UK.

“Cheadle Royal was our undisputed first choice for establishing a strong presence in the North.  Its unrivalled amenities and excellent location matched our requirements precisely.”

Wes Erlam, development surveyor at Muse Developments, added: “To date, Cheadle Royal has developed more than 600,000 sq ft of high quality commercial office space, attracting a raft of high profile, international brands.  Miele’s choice of Cheadle Royal for its Northern centre demonstrates the park’s continued appeal after more than a decade of development.”

Miele are represented by VSL.  DTZ and Lambert Smith Hampton act for Muse Developments.  How Planning acted for both Miele and Muse Developments.
